IT'S A RACE(ism) WAR IN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY -- Hillary Clinton says, "[Jeremiah Wright] would not have been my pastor."

That Barack Obama, he's such a uniter.

Hillary Clinton has decided to fight for the Democratic nomination -- and I'm betting that Obama's embrace of the racist rev. Wright is going to prove a loser with the American people.

The Democrat Party and it's Super Delegate leadership is at an historic turning point, and the question is at what price will they continue to buy off the most radical elements of their political base among left-leaning African-Americans.  Clinton and Obama have put the choice out in front of them, and the identity of the Democratic Party among all Americans, white or black, will be established by this choice.  And the choice is between a Democratic party which allies itself with anti-white hate and anti-American hate and a party which clearly rejects these as outside the limits of civic behavior.  It's an important choice for America, and may determine the outcome of the November election.

Obama said he wanted a national dialog on race, and it looks like he's got one ..

UPDATE:  Here's the video:

And Hillary Clinton saying the same thing again at her the press conference:

OBAMA -- The Audacity of Graft.  You've GOT to check out the photo and copy included with this one.  If McCain isn't a complete incompetent he's going to nail Obama for tit-for-tat sweetheart deals involving Tony Rezko, involving money from corrupt London based Iraqi businessman Nadhmi Auchi.  Bob Novak has a recap of the story here.

Hillary Clinton's reputation for tough and intelligent politics is one of the great laughers in history.  Obama would be bloody road kill on the way to the White House if Hillary Clinton had any real intelligence or stones.  You don't attack a man for his third grade writings or his silly costumes abroad -- you cut his throat where he lives, which is on phony ethics, phony "unity" claims,  phony colorbindness, and phony protestations against corruption.  Hillary reveals herself as a complete political incompetent for failing to chop off Barack where he lives and breaths.

Is McCain similarly incompetent?  He often seems to be.  But in Florida he showed he's willing to put in the knife where he needs to, Sunday School ethics be damned -- something his father and grandfather might well have understood.

If I were McCain I'd of had those Tony Rezko spots up yesterday -- and I wouldn't be waiting for Chris Matthews or the NY Times to put me in the White House.

NOW IT'S MARK STEYN making the case for Hillary Clinton -- if John McCain takes over the Republican party.

SADDAM HUSSEIN MISCALCULATED because he assumed that George Bush was just another weak and full of it American President like Bill Clinton.  If you've followed this closely you'll remember that Bill Clinton insisted that Saddam Hussein had to be removed from power.  But that was all phony bluster for domestic consumption, and Clinton backed up his promise with, well, most nothing.  A few bombs in the night and .. nothing.  So Saddam rightly assumed that American Presidents were not to be taken seriously.  George Bush the First had the power to take off Saddam's head, and when the opportunity showed itself, Bush I wilted.  Bill Clinton promised to take off his head, and again nothing.  America had established a powerful reputation not following through and not going for the jugular.  You would have expected the man not to have taken George Bush the Second seriously.

OBAMA VS. ROMNEY  in November -- I'm sticking with my pre-New Hampshire prediction.  I'm not saying it's a slam dunk, never did.  But it's still my best guess.

Here are some remarkable poll results.  Over 60% of voters in the South Carolina primary were women, and over half of those women were African-American women.  In fact, black women outnumbered black men almost 2-1.  And it was this vote which really put Barack Obama over the top.  Obama took only 22% of the non-black female vote, but a whopping 78% of the very large black female vote.  Oprah Winfrey is clearly not the only black woman in the country who's highly motivated to turn out at the polls for Obama.  The white female vote was split almost equally between Hillary Clinton and John Edwards.

UPDATE:  Looking at the exit polls, Rich Lowry sees Hillary Clinton holding tough with the demographics she needs to win the Democratic nomination.  My November prediction assumes that outside of the deep South Obama will continue to erode away chunks of that demographic.

And the quote of the night goes to ABC's Jake Tapper:

Said Bill Clinton today in Columbia, SC: "Jesse Jackson won South Carolina in '84 and '88. Jackson ran a good campaign.  And Obama ran a good campaign here."

This was in response to a question about Obama saying it "took two people to beat him." Jackson had not been mentioned.

Boy, I can't understand why anyone would think the Clintons are running a race-baiting campaign to paint Obama as "the black candidate."

THIS IS SURPRISING. But I guess not that much of a surprise. David Brooks has taken the temperature of the Bush insiders on the contest for the Presidency and he reveals a strong preference in the race. "They like Hillary Clinton," says Brooks.  "The people in the Bush White House .. would trust their legacy to Hillary Clinton more than to Obama, and more frankly than to a lot of the Republican candidates."
