SHOCKER! THE AP LIED ABOUT PALIN AND THE ALASKA GAS PIPELINE

OK, it's not a shocker.  The AP makes up false information and reports it as news all the time.

Party before journalism.  The new creed of the Associated Press and "journalists" coast to coast.

I'm canceling my subscription to the Orange County Register after the conclusion of this election.  The paper is dependent on Democrat party press releases from the AP and other wire services for its national news, and I've had enough of that.

THE PARTISAN DEMOCRATS IN THE PRESS CORP are doing what they did with Barry Goldwater, smearing Republicans as hate filled maniacs.  Remember, CBS News told America that Goldwater was consulting with neo-Nazis in Germany, and much worse was said about Goldwater and the GOP at the time.  So this is nothing new.  It's an age old tactic of the leftist in the press.

But what is new is how hate and insane behavior have become mainstream among many Democrats on the left -- Michelle Malkin has a rundown of recent leftists acts of insane hate, and Gateway Pundit has the latest on the hate filled crazies raising millions for Barack Obama, part of a continuing series at his blog.

The story that gets in the MSM is a lie, and the story that continues to be spiked by the partisan Democrat press corp is appallingly true.

UPDATE:   Obama supporters show their hate in Portland.

SARAH PALIN IS NOTHING BUT A CASTRATI WIMP next to Thomas Sowell when it comes to calling like it is with Barack Obama

Sowell is the great public philosopher of our time.  Here's his summing up:

The old phrase, "a man of high ideals but no principles," is one that applies all too painfully to Barack Obama today. His words expressing lofty ideals may appeal to the gullible but his long history of having no principles makes him a danger of the first magnitude in the White House.

BOBBY JINDAL has to be considered the luckiest man in America tonight, fortunate that his own career wasn't damaged by being tied like an anchor to the idiotic and erratic McCain campaign, the way Sarah Palin has been damaged by the requirement to adopt and spin for most all of John McCain's worst political positions -- not to mention how she was deeply damaged by the insane interview strategy crafted by McCain's handlers.
|
DEBATE REACTIONS:

Hugh Hewitt is keeping a question by question scorecard of the debate.

Michelle Malkin is also live blogging the debate, as is Ann Althouse.

My impression is that Obama is "winning" the debate in the sense of speaking well the sort of talk that will appeal to undecided / uninformed voters.  But that's just a guess.  It's very hard for me to get into the head of these people who typically don't know much, usually don't care much, and often don't much know what to think on any given day.

UPDATE:  My wife calls it in favor of McCain on substance.  She's discounts the importance of style.

Final thought?  He was so far in the tank that Tom Brokaw was growing gills.

UPDATE II:  John Hinderaker -- "On the whole, [Obama's] a plausible rogue and I suspect that he passed muster with most people who aren't knowledgeable about the issues."

OBAMA IS A B*LLSH*TT*ER who can't be trusted -- Sarah Palin picks up on the most important underlying truth about Barack Obama which I've been exposing here on PrestoPundit since at least March of 2008.

And most importantly, Palin is making the truly important connection between Obama's deep dishonesty and Obama's deep leftist identity.  Obama's deep dishonesty comes out of the fact that Obama is a "ends justify the means" Alinsky hard leftist -- and his deep dishonesty allows Obama to sustain his loyalty to a corrupt and deeply failed ideology.  Obama's deep dishonesty also makes it possible for Obama to be a  successful political standardbearer for that ideology, because Obama's deep dishonesty allows him to conceal this true ideological identity and agenda from the mainstream of the American people.

PALIN'S DEBATE ADVICE FOR MCCAIN -- TAKE THE GLOVES OFF.

SOCAL CROWD BOOS THE NY TIMES. Some people may enjoy hearing Sarah Palin trash Obama for his close and long association with terrorist bomber Bill Ayers.  What I loved is hearing my neighbors give a loud Bronx cheer for the far left NY Times:

|
SARAH PALIN HAS GOOD ANSWERS for the hostile questions shot at her by newswitch Katie Couric.  Why didn't Palin answer Couric?  Well, basically Palin was giving Couric the silent treatment for asking disrespectful questions that didn't help her talk about the issues she wants to talk to voters about.  If you aren't a moron, you know that Couric never put Obama or Biden in this position -- with the MSM the soccer ball is always tossed onto the field on the leftist / Democrat side of the field, as you should have noticed last night with the National Socialist Television lady who stands to make $350,000+ if her preferred candidate is elected President.

HERE'S THE PALIN - BIDEN DEBATE TRANSCRIPT.

I'm too pooped to blog the debate tonight.  I'll see if I can't get something up on the debate in the morning.

MARK LEVIN ON SARAH PALIN'S DEBATE PERFORMANCE:

I have been involved in and observed politics for a long time. Governor Palin is a truly unique national figure. She is down to earth, personable, and smart as hell. That's right. She has been on the national scene for a little over a month, she has been campaigning everywhere, she has had to bone up on all kinds of national issues, and she has shown class throughout. Too often too many are persuaded by the mainstream media's opinion and react to that. This should be another lesson in that regard. As for some of her populist views, she cannot openly campaign against the positions of her presidential running mate. She is the bright light in this campaign from my perspective.
UPDATE:  10,000 greeted Palin at the after debate party -- including Gateway Pundit and his family (don't miss the pics).
|
THE LUNTZ FOCUS GROUP overwhelmingly picked Palin as the winner of the debate.  And based on his dial-o-meter results with these independent voters, Luntz flat out says the polls will shift in favor of McCain over the next 48 hours.  We'll see.

UPDATE:  Here's Luntz and his focus group on Fox:

|
WELL, YOU'RE A TRUE OBAMATARD if you think Sarah Palin isn't ready to be our President.  I'd rather be governed by 535 Sarah Palin's rather than the weasels and crooks and socialists who now make up the U. S. Congress.  And I'd rather have Sarah Palin in the White House than George Bush, or Bill Clinton or John McCain or the biggest weasel in politics -- Barack Obama -- all of whom are massive mediocrities and true economic idiots, if we are allowed to tell the truth about these men.

I've been dealing with kids, and I'll be back in a bit to blog the debate.

WHO IS SARAH PALIN? This is Sarah Palin.

WHAT PARTISANSHIP DOES TO "NEWS" AT CBS -- Ann Althouse reports on how CBS News twists the news by rewriting words spoken by Sarah Palin.  That's what I said.  They rewrite her words to make her say something different.

Are these decent people?  No.

UPDATE:  Airhead newswitch Katie Couric throws softballs with zero followup to Joe Biden on abortion and the Supreme Court.  Compare and contrast with Couric's hostile treatment of Palin.

What the McCain campaign has done to Palin by limiting her to exclusive interviews with hostile left leaning partisan Democrat "journalists" is just a disgrace.  The fact that McCain was a "D" student at the bottom of his Naval Academy class can't surprise anyone at this point.  I mean, McCain couldn't even bother himself to prepare for his debate with Obama.  I'm guessing this is a man simply repeating his old habit of never doing homework or preparing for an exam he developed during his undergrad years.

VIDEO: YOUR SARAH PALIN - JOE BIDEN DEBATE PREP. [Bumped]  Sarah Palin debating Tony Knowles in the 2006:

Tony Knowles was a popular former two term governor of the state of Alaska when this debate took place during the 2006 campaign for Governor of Alaska.  Palin really starts rolling about midway through the debate.

UPDATE:  What's it's like debating Sarah Palin.

And here's a highlight reel of Sarah Palin in debate in 2006:

VIDEO: 10,000 CHEESE HEADS GO NUTS FOR PALIN.

Note well that Sarah Palin has a new stump speech.  It's pretty good.

The good part starts at about 10 minutes in.  Quotable:

"Our opponent he likes to point the finger of blame.  But ask, has he ever lifted a finger to help?  Has he ever reached out a reformer's hand to the other side of the aisle?  In order to get others to say "Yes" to change, has he ever told his own party "No"?  When it comes to reform has he ever once said "We did" instead of "I will." "
The remarkable thing?  The words on paper aren't half as good as the delivery by Palin.

|
TRANSCRIPT -- SARAH PALIN'S INTERVIEW WITH SEAN HANNITY.

Let's admit it folks, when it comes to understanding markets and the economy, Sarah Palin is no Ronald Reagan.  Someone at the Heritage Foundation or FEE or the CATO Institute needs to reach out to Palin and offer her some free tutoring on the regulatory mess in the financial sector, the nature of the trade cycle, and the operations of the Fed.  Really guys.  It's time for folks to step up like Martin Anderson and Milton Friedman did helping Reagan understand the economy when the future President came on the national scene.

SARAH PALIN TAKES ON WALL STREET & CORRUPT REGULATIONS

What we want from Palin and McCain are more specifics and better explanations -- as well as assurance that the Justice Department will be let loose to go after the criminals who've been running Fannie Mae.
|
PALIN FIRED MONEGAN FOR CAUSE.  And Monegan is on record acknowledging that Palin never asked him to fire the State trooper involved in "trooopergate", the man who threatened the life of her father -- a statement which put the trooper on the list of direct threats to the family of the Governor in the eyes of her security detail.

OK, LET'S MAKE THAT A 'LIMITED PARTIAL BREAK' from blogging this week.  There's just too much going on which can't be ignored, so look for one or two small posts through the week.

"WHILE THE NY TIMES CRACK INVESTIGATIVE STAFF is busily pursuing a 4-H pal of Sarah Palin's, they seem to have missed the biggest story of this election cycle."

THE DECENCY DEFICIT -- it's not conservatives and Republicans who've got it

Make fun of McCain's crippled hands and broken shoulders, smashed at the hands of the Vietnamese?  Lie about McCain's computer literacy?  Barack Obama says, Can we do it?  Yes we can

Take a look around.  Is the MSM raising a stink about Obama's outragous slander of a crippled war hero?  No, they're OK with that.  National Democrats?  OK with that.  Leftist academia?  OK with that.  The lefty blogosphere?  OK with that.  We know that the publisher of the NY Times effectively believes that McCain got what was coming to him.  And I'm guessing it's Vietnam and war and leftist ideology that are behind the silence of all these folks today.

Make fun a crippled man?  What's decency got to do with it?  There's a Democrat to elect and a war mongering Republican to defeat.

TEACHING THE AP AND THE NY TIMES HOW TO DO THERE JOB -- the American Thinker on Sarah Palin and the Wasilla Public Library.

Of course, I'm assuming that the job of the AP and the NY Times is to present the news -- an obviously preposterous assumption.  In the real world the AP and the NY Times are all too clear about their mission, and it has little or nothing to do with presenting the news or informing the public.

Hence the massive and ongoing cancellation of newspaper subscription.  A newspaper lacking a genuine news mission is a mere party propaganda sheet -- one of the most tedious and unhelpful things in the world.  Despite the rise of the moronic leftist elite, outside of the some tiny but powerful leftist ghettos, there aren't that many people willing to pay for such a thing.

HELP ME. I CAN'T STOP BLOGGING ..

I hope folks are checking out some of the great blogs found over on the right there under "blog favorites".  Lot's going on and amazingly GREAT coverage coming for from the alternative media.

SANDBAGGED: CHARLES GIBSON MISQUOTES SARAH PALIN in a "gotcha" interview with the GOP VP nominee.  John Podhoretz and Ace have the details.   And Tom Maguire has the back story.  Gibson should be put on unpaid leave for a few days.  That's what they do with professionals in other fields, when an employee has grossly violated the basic rules of behavior within their line of work.  Cop who've shot people or lawyers who've misrepresented people are put on suspension all the time.  I'd like to see Gibson put on suspension for violating the basic journalistic principle to quote people correctly without gross distortion.

If you'd like to contact ABC News about the Gibson sandbagging of Sarah Palin, click here and send em' a message.  I did.

Newsbusters has the details of Gibson's "gotcha" journalism against Palin, along with a transcript of the interview.  And Michelle Malkin has more on the Gibson sandbagging here

And note well, when it comes to the so-called "Bush Doctrine", Charlie Gibson is an idiot.  More here.

ALSO.  And don't miss this, the leftist AP once again over the top outrageous.  No surprise that the reporter covering Palin for the AP is a contributor to leftist political organizations.

Yes, I said I'd be taking a break from blogging for a few days, and I will.  But this had me outraged like I can't remember being outraged by a newsman and a news organization.  The MSM has the dishonest attack dogs on Palin, and I find it utterly unacceptable in a democratic nation.

How can our country survive if the press becomes so partisan and so unethical that the public is swimming in nothing but lies and deceit?  The press this time has turned a corner and stepped into a zone of such dishonesty and partisanship that I don't think the reputation of these organizations can ever by restored.

And the lies just keep coming.  UPDATE:  Ace has some questions for the Washington Post.

UPDATE II:  Damage control at ABC News.

See also Gateway Pundit on how the media cover Palin vs. how the media cover Obama.

And Newsbusters shows that Gibson had all softballs for Barack Obama in Obama's first big "I'm running for President" interview.

SARAH BARRACUDA RIPS NEW FLESH out of the hide of Barack "The Bench Warmer" Obama:

The Alaska governor fought back against [bogus] charges that she [didn't oppose] the infamous Bridge to Nowhere earmark ..

"I didn't think he'd want to go there," Palin said. "In just three years, our opponent has requested nearly a billion dollars in earmarks."

Palin then reminded those gathered that she has something Obama doesn't -- executive experience in government.

"Our opponent was requesting a billion dollars in earmarks as a senatorial privilege. What I was doing was vetoing half a billion as an executive responsibility,"
Here's the clip of Palin speaking today in Fairfax, Virginia, with the quoted remarks coming in the last 30 seconds of the video:

THE NY TIMES IS IN COVERUP MODE, providing farcical coverage of the Obama / Ayers / Annenberg Challenge story.  Thankfully, Tom Maguire and Steve Diamond are their to show the Times up as the Stalin-era propaganists they are, partisan hacks who are doing their George Orwell best to hide the truth about their chosen candidate for President.

It's time to say it.  People who merely read the NY Times are among the least well informed people in the country.  The rest of us justifiably hold our heads in contempt at those poor ignorant rubes who depend on the Times as the principle source of news.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Experience" is often just a fancy word for the mistakes that we belatedly realized we were making, only after the realities of the world made us pay a painful price for being wrong.

Those who are insulated from that pain -- whether by being born into affluence or wealth, or shielded by the welfare state, or insulated by tenure in academia or in the federal judiciary -- can remain in a state of perpetual immaturity.

Individuals can refuse to grow up, especially when surrounded in their work and in their social life by similarly situated and like-minded people ..

Should we be surprised that the strongest supporters of the political Left are found among the young, academics, limousine liberals with trust funds, media celebrities, and federal judges?

YES, OBAMA CALLED McCAIN AN OLD FISH, and yes, he called Palin a pig.  Anyone who's read Obama's memoir knows that this is a man with real anger issues.  And certainly this is a man who's major talent has been with crafting words for a purpose, and only a fool wouldn't see what Obama's purpose was in using a dual metaphor of an old fish and a lipstick wearing pig.  His audience was certainly hip to Obama's bit of "playing the dozens" with Palin and McCain as his victims.
