I'VE ALWAYS OPPOSED THE FIRST GULF WAR

but I've also always held that the only way to end that war was to win it, and the fact of the matter a decade ago was that the Gulf war wasn't yet won and wasn't yet over, and the bulk of the costs of that war had yet to be borne.  Bush II is merely bringing to an end a war Bush I failed to conclude, failed to fight to its necessary finish.  Bush II defense strategist Douglas Feith comes fairly close to confirming that Bush the younger and his defense team understood the matter fairly much the way I did at the time.
